A distinctive team from Zhodino took part in the two initial premier league championships but in 1994 left the first division for a lengthy 9 seasons. The return was accomplished in 2002 under a charismatic coach Yakov Shapiro who in fact was more than just a head coach for «Torpedo». In 2004 he passed away, but his followers continued to develop the club. In seasons 2004 and 2005 Yuri Maleev was head coach and the team was extremely close to winning the bronze medals, but the ending of the championship didnt go their way. In 2010 the club from Zhodino reached the Belarus cup final were they lost to fellow neighbours BATE Borisov 0:5. Nevertheless that final ensured the club with a place in the european club tournaments. The campaign wasnt bad for a start. Having overcome «Filkir» from Iceland, «Torpedo» lost to a club from Serbia OFK (2:2 – away, 0:1 – home). In six years the «balck-whites» managed to rake revenge against BATE in another cup final and win on penalties. In 2020 with Yuri Puntus as head coach the team finished the season in the top-3 for the first time in their history, having won bronze medals of the «Belarusbank - Premier League». In 2023, under the leadership of Dmitry Molosh, club repeated it's bronze success.
